Stephen King was born on September 21, 1947 in Maine, United States.

His passion for this genre was for reading fiction and horror books that an aunt of hers collected.

As a kid, Stephen King’s friend was struck and killed by a train.

Stephen King was hit by a car, then bought the car that hit him.

Not every book by Stephen King bears his name.

King prefers to write on paper with a fountain pen.

King tries to write a minimum of 2,000 words a day.

King has won over 50 awards for his novels – his first was the 1978 American Library Association Best Book for Young Adults with “Salem’s Lot”

He is a political activist, speaking out against the restriction of violent video games to under 18’s.

“Carrie” wouldn’t exist if it weren't for King’s wife.

Carrie was Stephen King's first novel in 1974. It was a horror thriller and one of the most popular in his collection. Carrie is a girl with supernatural powers, she lives with her mother a fanatical religion and is the joke of her class. The story becomes scarier when Carrie begins to use her power.

The Shining is Stephen King's most popular novel. It was published on January 28, 1977. It is a book of suspense and psychological terror. The protagonist are Jack Torrance and his family, they live for a time protecting a hotel. He is an alcoholic writer and former teacher. Madness grows in the house.

We chose this author because we really like scary and horror books. Also, in our opinion, Stephen King is the best in this literary genre. His books are interesting and full of suspense.
